Day 2 - HE'S THE BESTEST!
I spent hours last night thinking of what to thank God for and write about today and once again I realised that I was stressing myself out by thinking when I should have been relaxing.Have a fab day all
As I walked down to the station this morning I started to think about the day ahead and still had no clue what I wanted to thank God for and write about. He’s done so much so it shouldn’t be that hard to pick just one thing.
Got into work, sat down to catch up on emails and 5 emails from one person saying the same thing stood out! *Screams* Okay I get the message! As I read the mail for the 5th time this stood out…
“In the Bible, God's friends were honest about their feelings - sometimes even complaining and arguing with Him - yet He didn't seem to mind. In fact, He encouraged it. To be God's friend you must share your true feelings with Him, not what you think you ought to feel or say”.
God doesn't expect you to be perfect, but He does expect you to be honest. If perfection was a requirement not one of us would qualify. Finally! Now I know what to thank God for today.
A few weeks ago, a few friends and myself where talking about a movie we all watched and as we somehow digressed we found ourselves talking about marriage, YES I said IT MARRIAGE and the characteristics of the proverbs 31 woman. When we look at all the wonderful qualities of a Proverbs 31 Woman it can be overwhelming, and we all agreed that trying to emulate her lifestyle and characteristics was daunting. But we challenged each other and all agreed to put it into practice, encourage each other and get progress updates each week.
I choose to focus on one attribute each week.
Week one was fine I excelled! But by week two I started to struggle and I must admit I got angry at myself for not being able to conquer the next characteristic.
I don’t think that men should use the checklist in determining a “suitable” mate #Justsaying and please #DontJudgeMe.
So today I openly say dear Lord I tried to emulate the characteristics of the proverbs 31 woman, she is PERFECT I am not perfect and I am happy that you prefer honesty so I won’t hide and pretend I NEED YOUR HELP! I want to be ME I prefer ME to HER but I would like help with attaining some of her profound characteristics.
On that note I don’t think that you can check off characteristics on the list and determine yourself “righteous.” But I do think that we can use the characteristics as a guide, of what we should be aiming for.
So to all the ladies out there I encourage you to try and please do not beat yourself up if you fail. If at first you don’t succeed, try again! And to the men who are seeking for a PROVERBS 31 woman kindly do a 360 evaluation of your characteristics first thank you very much.
To the gentlemen continue to encourage the ladies and thank you for your patience.
So today I am thanking God for Manny, Eman, uncleman, trouble, Emmanuel as most know him by. For the all wonderful things that God has done and is yet to do in your life. Thank you for sending me the email 5times!
I did a little research and found a list of her attributes, we all posses some or most of these attributes. Maybe rather trying so hard to emulate her, focus of perfecting the attribute you already have before embarking n a new journey to conquer it all like we did.
Or challenge yourself to be just like her GOODLUCK!

Day 1 - I LOVE HIM
He’s the type of guy that’ll supersize your life and turn it all around…… round and round, with him there’s no limit!
He’s been my shoulder to cry on, always there to make me smile, tell me off when am going in the wrong direction. I love the way he alters my plans and makes me follow his own, which inevitably is always better than mine. Am not talking about the average man, he doesn’t do mediocre, he is a king and I am privileged to have him in my life. My best friend, father, counsellor, teacher etc all wrapped up in one The Prince of Peace.
As I walked to the station this morning I was thinking retrospectively and suddenly realised that I’ve spent so much time worrying, asking and wanting everything that I forgot to enjoy and thank God for what he has given me.
We ask he delivers, then we ask again and he delivers and we just get caught up asking and wanting that we often forget to thank him properly and enjoy what he has given us.
God has been good, and I promise to thank him openly for all he did, is doing and is yet to do. Thank you Lord for my life, without your guidance I really don’t know where I would be today. I’ve spent so much time asking for the world and forgot to thank you for all you have done.
I have decided to take time out to enjoy all the great things that he has given to me, and thank him properly for it all. I couldn’t have asked for a better start to the week, so far it’s been a fantastic day! Discover the talents and gifts that you possess, learn how to offer those talents and gift in a way that most benefit others. Every day this week I will take time out to thank him openly by posting a blog.
On a lighter note someone said expect the worst so you don’t get disappointed when your expectations aren’t met. But it’s contrary to my belief after all Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. Do I expect the worst at all times which means being pessimistic just so I don’t get too disappointed or do I just have faith? HELP!!!
By faith Noah, when warned about things not yet seen, in holy fear built an ark to save his family. By his faith he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness that comes by faith.
By faith the people passed through the Red Sea as on dry land; but when the Egyptians tried to do so, they were drowned.
By Faith Abraham, even though he was past age- and Sarah herself was barren- was enabled to become a father because he considered him faithful who had made the promise
So I choose the latter - Ask and have Faith, without doubting that God will deliver in his own time.
Today am thanking God for my Family.
Have a good one all

By His Grace You Can Overcome
Some of the world's greatest people have faced the world's greatest challenges, but have overcome them.
Have a Fab day
- Cripple a man with polio, and you have Sir Walter Scott.
- Lock a man in prison, and you have John Bunyan.
- Raise a man in abject poverty, and you have Abraham Lincoln.
- Subject a man to bitter religious prejudice, and you have Benjamin Disraeli.
- Strike a man down with paralysis, and you have Franklin Roosevelt.
- Have someone born black in a society filled with racial discrimination, and you have Booker T. Washington, Harriet Tubman, Marian Anderson and George Washington Carver.
- Make a man the first child to survive in an impoverished Italian family of 18, and you have Enrico Caruso.
- Have a man born to parents who survived a Nazi concentration camp, paralyse him from the waist down when he's four years old, and you have the incomparable violinist Itzhak Perlman.
- Call a man a slow learner and mentally challenged, write him off as beyond education, and you have Albert Einstein.
- Helen Keller was born blind and deaf, yet she graduated from college with highest honours and impacted the world.
- Margaret Thatcher, England's first and only woman Prime Minister, lived upstairs over her father's grocery store. For a while her childhood home had no running water and no indoor plumbing.
- Golda Meir, Israel's first and only woman Prime Minister was a divorced grandmother from Milwaukee.
What do these people teach us?
That success doesn't depend on our circumstances, but on overcoming our circumstances. And with God on our side we can do it!
I hope you have been inspired

Happy New Year - 2011 Our Year of Unlimited Testimonies!
Waking up at 6am on a week day has become less of a usual routine and more of a chore! It’s probably because I got used to waking up late, to sunshine, noise and the smell of freshly baked bread! The last few weeks have been phenomenal! After working extremely hard throughout 2010, a 3 week respite in the sun didn’t seem long enough. But am happy, I feel great and am ready to conquer the world!
Happy new year to all my wonderful friends, family, faithful readers; and HATERS! (better late than never to say happy new year and although mine came 17days late). Why am i thanking the haters? We always have to thank the haters because to be honest without them things can get boring around here. Most importantly I want to thank God for being the pilot of my life, seeing me through 2010 and into 2011 safely. Many wished to see the New Year but only a few made it through, to those we lost in 2010 RIP!
I thank God for his word and for my family the latter played a major role in keeping me grounded. Without structure, love, discipline and support from them I don’t know where I’d be today so thank you! I am not lucky to have a wonderful family I am simply blessed! His word has made me a better person, each day I learn something important I must say the bible is the blueprint to living a fantastic life!
Happy new-year once again to all my faithful readers! And to those who have been supportive I love you all! I hope everyone had a fantastic Christmas and a great start to the New Year! I certainly did and I pray and hope that this year will be a great year for everyone! I pray that whatever you are hoping/praying for (as long as it’s in line with Gods plans for you) it will happen!
New Year resolutions!
Every year for as long as I can remember, I’ll have a long list of resolutions.
Eradicate negative people, Run a marathon, Buy a horse, Win the lottery (Play the lottery), join the gym, go backpacking, climb the Great Wall of China, etc.
Well that ended 2years ago when I realised that 4 weeks into the New Year id either have forgotten half of what I put down on the endless list, or I’d struggle to keep up with my long list of resolutions so I stopped making New Year resolutions and started setting goals and achieving them.
Saying & doing!
So far it’s worked and each year I pick one or two things and I focus on completing it. Last year I picked up reading (one of my DO’s) and I don’t mean Elle and Instyle. I started with the very girly novels by authors such as Sophie Kinsella and Louise Bagshawe and I can proudly say I am addicted to books and I love reading. Getting on the train to and from work doesn’t seem so bad anymore because am always so excited to continue where I left off.
WHAT NEW YEAR RESOLUTIONS DID YOU MAKE THIS YEAR?
- This year I will spend more quality time with my family
- I will give more to those who are less privileged
- This year I will not tolerate mediocrity!
I mean I currently don’t but am taking it to another level now. Call me shallow if you like, but in my own opinion when you spend a lot of time in the bin, you eventually become trash. Sounds so silly but I have seen people go from zero to minus 20! I have said it before and I will say it again “you are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.” – Jim Rohn. It is absolutely critical that we be very selective.
Enough said for now, fasten your seat belt, hold on tight and enjoy the pleasant journey into 2011. It’s definately going to be an exciting year & I can’t stop smiling beacause am excited!
Bye for now & God bless!
